NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As we head into 2024, the Bahamas Christian Council is concerned about other countries pressuring smaller countries like The Bahamas.

As a result, council president bishop Delton Fernander says there are a few bills the council will be watching closely.

Fernander says the council is keeping an eye on the pressure of global trends seeking to change the country’s focus from a Christian focus to a progressive one.

As a result, he’s advising churches to stay attentive.

One of the pressures he says is cannabis legislation.

Then there’s the challenge of social ills like poverty that many Bahamians face daily.
