NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Aspiring politician Lincoln Bain has been granted final leave to have the country’s highest court determine whether he should repay an investor $64,000.

Rolle sued Bain after she gave him $40,000 in 2010 to invest. The money was to be held in trust for three years at an interest rate of 10 percent per annum.

She alleged that Bain never invested the money and failed to return it.

Bain didn’t deny getting the money from Rolle.

However, he claimed that she the money was to buy the Kid’s Shoe Department from Bani Shoe Warehouse. Bain was unable to produce a sales agreement, which he said was destroyed when Bani Shoe Warehouse burned down.

The Court of Appeal ruled against Bain last year.

He’s hoping that the Privy Council rules in his favor.
