NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 17-year-old Katerina Coello made Bahamian history — and took the top spot — at the 2025 FEI Jumping World Challenge, the first FEI-recognized equestrian event ever held in The Bahamas.
Competing at Moonstone Stables, Coello and Whiterock Duggie delivered four flawless rounds with no faults, finishing well under time in both events to lead Category C, Zone 10, ahead of Bermuda’s Abby Bardgett.
The course, designed by international FEI officials from Brazil and Portugal, tested riders with up to 13 obstacles at heights of over a meter.
Officials, led by Heidi Mello, praised Coello’s performance and the Equestrian Bahamas Federation for hosting the landmark event.
The FEI World Challenge allows riders to compete internationally without leaving their home country. The final leg of the competition is set for December 6.
Buddy Hield and Deandre Ayton in NBA Preseason Action
Buddy Hield and Deandre Ayton were both in action last night as the NBA preseason continued.
For Ayton, it marked his first game playing alongside Luka Doncic in a Lakers uniform, and he made his presence felt in the paint. Ayton finished with a double-double — 10 points and 13 rebounds — despite the Lakers falling to the Phoenix Suns 113-104. The new-look Lakers frontcourt showed promise, with Ayton controlling the glass and setting strong screens in limited minutes.

Over in Portland, Hield came off the bench to hit two three-pointers, finishing with 6 points and 6 rebounds in 22 minutes. The Warriors came up short against the Trail Blazers, losing 118-111.
Both Hield and Ayton will have one more chance to tune up before the regular season begins next week, as they look to settle into key roles with their new teams.
D’Shawn Knowles Signs in Puerto Rico
From one league to the next, D’Shawn Knowles’ season on the diamond continues this winter.
The veteran outfielder signed with Leones de Ponce of the Roberto Clemente Pro League in Puerto Rico for the 2025-26 winter season. The announcement comes as the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) prepares to open its new campaign on November 6, 2025.
Knowles will report to the club this weekend, and the season opens on November 7 against Mayaguez.
Knowles joins Ponce following a strong 2025 campaign with the Sioux City Explorers in the American Association of Professional Baseball, where he hit .286 with a .388 OBP, 9 home runs, 54 RBIs, 62 runs scored, and 53 stolen bases across 88 games.
The 24-year-old switch-hitter advanced as high as Triple-A in the Los Angeles Angels organization.
