NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A video circulating on social media showing an American woman using racial slurs and defecating in a police station has prompted a probe.

National Security Minister Wayne Munroe telling Our News he’s asked the commissioner of police to launch an investigation into who filmed the incident and released it.

The shocking video quickly went viral overnight some not only questioning her behavior but also the officers’.

Our News identifying the woman as Jacksonville, Florida resident Caya Sobata.

The video shows the woman shouting expletives and racial slurs at officers while in handcuffs.

So how did she end up in police custody? Our News obtained a copy of the arrest report dated July 15th, 2025.

Arresting officers say police got a call around eight forty that night from a woman who said she was driving on firetrail road when she saw a caucasian woman in distress.

She then reported that she got out of her car and tried to help but alleges the American woman shouted at her using racial slurs.

According to the report, officers who responded also reported the American woman continued to use racial slurs when they arrived.

Sometime after being taken into custody, Sobata was seen on video in the station asking to use the restroom. In the background, officers could be heard denying her.

Moments later, she defecated on the floor.

Munroe says he saw the video and admits she shouldn’t have been denied use of the restroom but more concerning for the national security minister is the recording of the incident.

“As far as I’m aware there’s a standing order from the commissioner of police either this one or the previous one outlawing recording or taking pictures of suspects or persons in custody and distributing them,” he said.
