NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A convicted armed robber has picked up a new charge while serving time in prison.

Prosecutors allege 31-year-old Luther Saunders was found in possession of marijuana, which he intended to distribute.

Saunders denied the charge when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Raquel Whyms and is due to stand trial in November.

He is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence for robbing a dentist and her husband at gunpoint, taking $16,000 outside their home in Eastern New Providence.

Prosecutors say Saunders and his cousin recorded themselves counting the stolen money shortly after the robbery.
