NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Director of Public Prosecutions has sent recommendations to the commissioner of police and a decision on the matter regarding a sitting member of Parliament is expected soon.

The top cop telling reporters there are a few more inquiries that need to be made.

Back in April, a woman filed a complaint to the police in Grand Bahama, accusing a sitting PLP MP of abuse and rape.

Once police wrapped up the investigation, the matter was forwarded to the Department of Public Prosecution.

She has since issued recommendations back to the police commissioner.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force has come under fire what many are calling the slow movement by police on the matter.

Spectators have suggested the police have been dragging their feet because he’s a part of the government.

But the police commissioner doubled down saying not all investigations are the same.
