NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Since 1999 The Center for Autism at Garvin Tynes Primary School has been creating a safe space to allow children living with autism to learn just like everyone else.

Team leader Lionel Floreus says that the unit not only caters to meeting the students’ individual needs but also builds on their unique strengths and skills.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave.

While there is still a long way to go, they are on the right track to meeting the needs of their students and this year, they have set out goals to teach the students how to be independent.
