CAYMAN ISLANDS – Three Americans – Dave Obaseki, Michael Capers, and Sean Luke – were sentenced to 18 months in a Cayman Islands jail after pleading guilty to fraud charges.

They used stolen credit card details to buy items like mobile devices, jewelry, and perfumes on the island.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), which reported the case Monday, credited the financial crime investigation unit (FCIU) for its extensive international investigation.

Local law enforcement says this outcome demonstrates a zero-tolerance stance on fraud in the Cayman Islands.
