NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The demand for pediatric doses of the covid-19 vaccine remains low. That’s the update from Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Cherita Moxey.

In August, Health Minister Dr. Michael Darville said the vaccines were moving a little slower than expected.

By late August, just over 300 had been administered.

24,000 doses of the pfizer covid19 vaccine for children ages five to 11 arrived in the country in late July.

They were delivered from France through the Covax facility.

Currently, pediatric doses are available at the Mall at Marathon vaccination site.
