NEW YORK, UNITED STATES – Chris DeMarco is moving from coaching The Bahamas’ top men’s players on the international stage to leading one of the most star-studded rosters in the WNBA.

The longtime Golden State Warriors assistant has been named the new head coach of the New York Liberty, tasked with bringing a championship back to Brooklyn.

DeMarco steps into the role with an elite lineup, headlined by former WNBA MVP and 2024 Finals MVP Jonquel Jones, who is coming off one of the best seasons of her career. The new position also marks another link between DeMarco and Bahamian basketball talent, he previously coached Buddy Hield during the guard’s stint with the Golden State Warriors.

DeMarco spent more than a decade within the Warriors organization, rising from player development to assistant coach and contributing to multiple NBA championships. Internationally, he made history as head coach of The Bahamas men’s national team, guiding the program to its first-ever Olympic Qualifying Tournament appearance.

Brody Knowles Shines in Texas High School Football Playoffs

Brody Knowles, son of Bahamian tennis legend Mark Knowles and younger brother of Georgia Tech quarterback Graham Knowles, is carving out his own athletic legacy on the football field.

The junior wide receiver for the Southlake Carroll Dragons, the No. 1 high school team in the United States, has been a breakout performer this season. Knowles recently hauled in a 36-yard touchdown in a dominant 72–7 playoff win over San Angelo Central in the Class 6A Division II bracket.

So far this season, he has 33 receptions, 705 yards, and five touchdowns, and his college recruitment is heating up. Knowles already holds official offers from Oklahoma, TCU, Illinois, Colorado State, Tulane, North Texas, and several others.

At FIU, Rhema Collins and Denika Lightbourne delivered their strongest performances of the season while sharing the floor.

Lightbourne added 15 points in just 18 minutes off the bench.

Collins recorded a season-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.
