UNITED STATES – It’s a new era for Jonquel Jones and the New York Liberty as Chris DeMarco has been officially introduced as the team’s new head coach.

The Liberty are banking on DeMarco to return the WNBA title to Brooklyn, leading one of the league’s most talented rosters. At the center of that group is Jonquel Jones, former league MVP and 2024 Finals MVP.

DeMarco spent more than a decade with the Golden State Warriors organization, rising from player development to assistant coach and helping guide the franchise to multiple NBA championships.

He also made history on the international stage, serving as head coach of The Bahamas men’s national basketball team and leading the program to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament for the first time.

DeMarco says he wants to keep the momentum alive and hopes his success inspires the next generation of Bahamian players.

Bahamas to Host 3×3 Caribbean Cup

From one Caribbean competition to another, The Bahamas is preparing to welcome the region again, this time on the basketball court.

The FIBA Americas 3×3 Caribbean Development Camp and Cup will take place December 11–13 at the National Beach Soccer Arena. The event, held in partnership with the Olympic Solidarity Program, aims to expand 3×3 basketball across the Caribbean.

The camp includes U23 training for men and women, coaching and referee clinics, development workshops, and a U15 clinic and youth tournament. The event concludes with official FIBA 3×3 men’s and women’s competitions featuring teams from The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti, Jamaica and Saint Lucia.
