The A-Sun Newcomer of The Year Headed To The Mountain West

Logan Hill, UT, USA. Deyton Albury is headed west. Coming off a junior year where he won Atlantic Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year for the Queens University Royals in Charlotte, North Carolina, he’s committed to play his senior season for the Utah State University Aggies.

Albury averaged 17 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 points per game for a Queens University team that went 14-19 in only their 2nd season as a Division I program before being eliminated in the second round of their conference tournament. Prior his lone season in Charlotte, he was a top 100 Junior College player at Chipola College in Florida.

Albury will join an Aggies team on the mend after the departure of head coach Danny Sprinkle to the University of Washington. Incoming coach Jerrod Calhoun is looking to add talent quickly via the transfer portal, so he presumably snatched up the 6’3” combo guard from New Providence as soon as he saw him.

The team’s schedule will be published later in the year.
