Nassau Native Signs With Fledgling D1 Program

Nassau, NP, The Bahamas. Queen’s University of Charlotte Royals Men’s Basketball team just wrapped up its first year as a Division 1 program. And now, it has a Division 1 guard in Deyton Albury.

The 6’3” junior guard from New Providence announced yesterday via his Instagram that he has committed to the Private University, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, giving the team some much-needed firepower.

Albury averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds and just over 3 assists on an ultra-efficient 47% from the field and 39% from 3 for a JuCo powerhouse that was ranked 9th in the country. He joins a Royals squad that had a respectable outing in its first year as a Division 1 school, going 18-15 on the season including a 7-11 in the conference.

Adding an uber-athletic, 6’3” combo guard is a step in the right direction for a school trying to prove that it belongs in Division 1. Look for Albury to get buckets with the big boys next year.
