NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has lost another bid to halt criminal charges after he was allegedly called to The Bahamas Bar using a forged law degree.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has lost another bid to halt criminal charges after he was allegedly called to The Bahamas Bar using a forged law degree.
The Court of Appeal has ordered the fraud trial of Shavon Bethel to begin as soon as possible.
Bethel has taken his battle to stop the case all the way to Privy Council, the country’s final court.
His last-ditch effort in the Court of Appeal to present new evidence was rejected.
Bethel was disbarred by Innner Temple in London, England in 2018 after it was discovered that he does not have a law degree from the University of London as he’d claimed.
