Disney Commits Up To $400m For Eleuthera Investment

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Disney Cruise Lines officially has all necessary approvals in place to begin construction for its newest port destination, The Lighthouse Point, Eleuthera in 2024.

Disney Cruise Line officially has all necessary approvals in place to begin construction for its newest port destination, The Lighthouse Point, Eleuthera in 2024. Regional Public Affairs Director, Joesph Gaskins says they have committed up to $400 million for the investment. 



Initially, the expectation was to hire some 120 Bahamians for the construction phase; however, it has since more than doubled to 300 openings.

Gaskins adds that they intend to keep the site public for Bahamians. 

According to Gaskins, they intend to build sustainably and with the protection of the environment a key factor.

With this in mind, he says they will only develop 20% of the property.
