NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tourism and Investment Minister Chester Cooper calling the Downtown area a disappointment, adding the government will not allow it to remain in the state it’s been in for decades.

The state of the Downtown area has been concerning for quite some time now.

Recently, Royal Caribbean President Michael Bayley said Downtown Nassau ranks in the bottom 10% with its guests.

Cooper says the plan is to increase police presence in the area and to keep it clean.

Additionally, nine buildings have been identified for demolition.
