Dry Drowning: Preventing This Potentially Fatal Occurrence
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Veteran lifeguard at the YMCA Family Center in Grand Bahama, Marvin Johnson, says he’s noticing a problem in recent times.
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Veteran lifeguard at the YMCA Family Center in Grand Bahama, Marvin Johnson, says he’s noticing a problem in recent times, children playing in or near water, yet not properly supervised by adults.
As a swim instructor for decades, he estimates less than 50 percent of the population are considered strong swimmers.
But, there can also be lingering danger once out of the water.
Volunteer out of the United States, Max Manolache, explains the term dry drowning.
And here’s what you should do if you notice any of the symptoms.
