NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With higher rates on the way, many are wondering how best they can cut costs with their power bills.

Deborah Deal has years of experience in energy and environmental issues, and in an exclusive interview with Our News, she shares key tips on how to best duck the price hike.

When it comes to cutting electricity costs, Deal knows her stuff.

Deal is on the board of Bahamas Contractors Association, and sits on the National Climate Change Committee. She is also the former Director for Energy and Environment with the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Federation.

Some may say “that’s easier said than done”, but Deal says a simple change in the lightbulbs at her church made a difference of tens of thousands of dollars.

Deal says this all comes back to climate change and our struggles to be self-reliant.
