ITALY – Fashion icon Giorgio Armani has died at the age of 91. The legendary designer helped put Italy at the top of global fashion – dressing Hollywood stars and building an empire worth billions.

Known for his minimalist style and timeless suits, Armani created iconic moments in film and red carpet history, from American Gigolo to Julia Roberts at the Golden Globes.

He remained the sole owner of his brand for five decades and leaves behind a legacy of elegance, innovation and global influence.

A public funeral chamber will open in Milan this weekend. His private funeral will be held Monday.
