USA – Britain’s late Queen Elizabeth II faced a potential assassination threat 40 years ago, ahead of a trip to the U.S., according to the FBI.
USA – Britain’s late Queen Elizabeth II faced a potential assassination threat 40 years ago, ahead of a trip to the United States. That’s according to newly released documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
One document appears to detail a tip to San Francisco police about a month before that visit regarding a phone call from “A man who claimed his daughter had been killed in northern Ireland by a rubber bullet and also claimed he was going to attempt to harm the queen.
A 103 page file was posted to the FBI’s online records site on Tuesday covering preparations for several trips the late queen made to the U.S.
