NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A tragic, early morning traffic fatality, claiming the life of a young woman.

According to police officials, they believe the incident may have occurred in the early morning hours around 2 a.m., but it wasn’t until around 6:30 a.m. when the police control room received a call about a black Honda Fit in waters just east of the Prince Charles and Yamacraw intersection.

Member of Parliament for St. Anne’s, Adrian White, also on scene to offer condolences. He says, unfortunately, not only is this not the first time an accident of this nature has occurred at this intersection, it is not the first time for the year.

Both men say it is time to implement more safety measures in this area. The plan now is to petition the Ministry of Works.

Now, a video of the alleged incident began to make its rounds on social media.

However, while on scene, Supt. Jennings says he could not confirm at the time if speed played a factor.
