EXUMA, BAHAMAS – A woman from Virginia was found dead at Grand Isle Resort & Residences in Exuma, Friday morning.

The resort issuing a statement confirming the death and that the 87-year-old woman was found in the shower of one of the condo hotel residences.

The resort offering condolences to the woman’s family.

Sources tell Our News the victim slipped and fell while taking a shower causing serious injuries which led to her death.

The statement also confirms that police were on property to investigate the exact cause of death.

This is the fifth visitor to die on that island for the year.

Back in May, three American tourists — Tennessee couple Michael and Robbie Phillips and Florida resident Vincent Paul Chiarella — were found dead from carbon monoxide poisoning at Sandals Emerald Bay resort.

In August another visitor died from what police say were COVID-19-related symptoms.
