NASSAU, BAHAMAS – NFL Flag Football has expanded to the Caribbean and The Bahamas is the NFL’s first stop. The first official football camp was held today at the Thomas A. Robinson stadium.

Back in June, officials from the National Football League announced that they wanted to bring football to all corners of the globe, and today they did just that making The Bahamas the first country in the region where the NFL flag program has been launched. For the first time, a NFL Flag Bahamas Skills Clinic was held – open to children and adults interested in the sport. We spoke with two of the participants: Christopher Munroe and Jayde Knowles.

The NFL’s Flag Global Ambassador is Phoebe Schecter who says The Bahamas has a lot of untapped talent.

Once the clinic ends, the flag football season, for both adults and kids, is expected to officially launch and begin in late August.

Ginger Moxey, MP for Pineridge partnered with Kentwan Smith, a professional basketball player from Grand Bahama to bring a basketball camp to children in her constituency.

Smith is a veteran pro basketball player and he’s proud of his camp.
