Five Face Off For West GB And Bimini Seat

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Our Megan Shepherd was on the ground in West Grand Bahama today as the five candidates go head to head in hopes of representing constituents in West Grand Bahama and Bimini.

PLP candidate Kingsley Smith Jr. likened it to a lengthy race.

Looking to capture that seat for the Free National Movement is Bishop Ricardo Grant. Grant, says based on his observation on the ground, he is feeling confident and optimistic that the work he has put in, will pay off once the polls have closed.

Also looking to usher in a change for that community, Leader of the Coalition of Independent is Lincoln Bain. Bain notes that there were some early morning concerns as it related to ballot boxes over on Bimini, but says they were quickly and amicably resolved.

He adds that while he is feeling very good about securing the seat, he understands that the choice is ultimately up to voters.

Finally, the only woman in the race is Independent candidate, Terneille Burrows.

While she says she believes a change is on the way for the constituency, and quite possibly the traditional political system in the country, she admits she is not one hundred percent sure how today’s election will go.
