NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Free National Movement – the first to officially ratify its candidate for the West End and Bimini race.

The opposition wrapped up the process last night, paving the way for their campaign to begin.

This was the scene at FNM headquarters Thursday last night as a crowd of Free National Movement supporters filled the party’s Mackey Street headquarters for this announcement.

The vacant seat, the result of the passing PLP MP the late Obie Wilchcombe.

And, although many offered, it was Ricardo Grant who ultimately got the nod.

The big question of the night from reporters was about the bishop’s decision to trade the pulpit for a potential seat in Parliament.

Partyleader Michael Pintard describing the contest as a “no retreat, no surrender” race. Grant agrees.

Bishop Grant hits the campaign trail right away with planned visits to Grand Bahama and Bimini this weekend.
