“The results of the arbitration were hailed as victory for both the government and the Grand Bahama Port Authority. The Opposition also chiming in FNM leader Michael Pintard says the PLP is in spin mode.”

“The government’s fight with the Port Authority has been a sideshow that’s not constructive in the way it was approached, and as far as we know, the claim the government submitted has been dismissed. So everything else about the arbitration pretty much is blah blah blah.”

A bold assertion by Opposition Leader Pintard, outside the House of Assembly on Wednesday morning, seemingly calling the Prime Minister Philip Davis’ national address smoke and mirrors.

The nationwide broadcast aired on Tuesday night, just hours after the news of the arbitration ruling went public.

In his address, Davis advised, “This is a historic turning. It’s about fairness.”

However, Pintard said the prime minister’s words are rhetoric.

“The issues in Grand Bahama remain the same before and after the address.”

He emphasized the persistent challenges facing the island, including the Grand Lucayan saga, the airport, and the ongoing difficulties that afflict Grand Bahama’s healthcare system.

“It’s still true that the hospital does not have enough medication in Grand Bahama. The hospital does not have enough diagnostic equipment we still do not have a solution for the morgue in Grand Bahama or how they dispose of bio waste. “

Pintard said that the government’s belief in a victory is nonsense and posed this challenge to the Davis administration.
