NASSAU, BAHAMAS – FNM Leader Michael Pintard says he sees it as a blip on the radar.

Days after former FNM Cabinet Minister Desmond Bannister wrote an open letter calling for a national convention Michael Pintard is breaking his silence.

He finds Bannister’s comments sad.

Pintard was referring to FNM Vice Chairman Richard Johnson who has trod a rocky road with the party.

Johnson is in an ongoing court battle with the party’s leadership and has on multiple occasions expressed his unwavering support for former party leader Dr. Hubert Minnis even going as far as saying he should return as leader.

Pintard also said it was disappointing his attention wasn’t directed toward ongoing national issues.

FNM Chairman Dr. Duane Sands told the Nassau Guardian Bannister has been missing in action for the last two years and has very little to do with the running of the FNM.

But Pintard doesn’t think this will effect the party going forward.

Bannister called for a national convention. Sands said a convention will be held between February and October.
