NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The former administrator of the Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home is behind bars over allegations that he abused his position by molesting 17-year-old resident of the home.

Sixty-year-old Ray Nairn stood before Senior Magistrate Anishka Isaacs facing charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a dependent, attempted unlawful sexual intercourse with a dependent, indecent assault and cruelty to children.

Prosecutors say Nairn’s alleged inappropriate conduct with the child began in January 2024, while he served as the home’s administrator.

From January 12 through June 31, Nairn allegedly indecently assaulted the teen.

He’s also accused of plying the teen with alcohol on January 12, causing suffering and injury to her health.

On December 16, Nairn allegedly had sex with the teen and indecently assaulted her. He’s also accused of attempting to have sex with the minor on the same date.

Nairn wasn’t required to enter pleas to the charges and was remanded to prison. He’ll have to seek bail in the Supreme Court.

Nairn is due to appear before Magistrate Isaacs on March 12 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
