NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Supreme Court judge has set bail at $30,000 for a former police officer accused of attempted murder and firearm possession.

Prosecutors say they plan to appeal Justice Jeanine Weech-Gomez’s decision to grant Shando King bail.

Prosecutors allege that on February 18 while concerned with others, King shot Tavares Paul in the shoulder during a drive-by at Exuma Street in an attempt to kill him.

King and others are accused of attempting to murder inspector Marcian Frazier, Constable Lenn King and Able Seaman Decordre Glinton by opening fire on them during a police chase.

He’s also accused of having a firearm with the intention of endangering the lives of Paul and the officers.

King was allegedly found in possession of to guns and multiple rounds of ammunition.
