NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The calm of the night was shattered by gunfire leaving four men dead in three separate incidents. One of the men gunned down was the son of former House Of Assembly clerk Maurice Tynes.

The first of the deadly incidents occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday night near Pineyard Road.

Police Press Officer Chief Superintend Chrislyn Skippings says two men in their forties arrived at a home on Penford Close in a white Nissan only to be ambushed by gunmen in a dark-colored Japanese car.

Adding to the grim scene, officers found a stash of marijuana inside the victims’ car.

The bloodbath continued less than three hours later in front of a business on Crooked Island street, just north of Palmetto Street.

Police say two killers confronted a 24-year-old man.

The spree of violence culminated around 4:30 this morning, when officers on patrol near Sumner Street and Soldier Road encountered a silver Daihatsu Hijet van with a lone male driver in his early thirties.

The vehicle had come to a stop after crashing into a pole, that victim died at the scene.

As dawn broke, families are grappling with the senseless loss of four lives and the unsettling reality of targeted violence in their midst.

One of the men killed in the double shooting was son of former house clerk Maurice Tynes.

Also on scene last night was Free National Movement Shadow Minister for National Security, Shannendon Cartwright a friend of the family. He made this passionate plea.
