NASSAU, BAHAMAS – While the numbers are good, 2024 is off to a rocky start when it comes to international media coverage of crime in The Bahamas.

In late January the United States releasing an updated security alert warning Americans about crime with ongoing international coverage of murders and more recently alleged rapes in the country.

But have numbers reflected this negatively press? 

CEO of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board and former Director General of Tourism Joy Jibrilu, sums it up this way.

She says at the end of the day, everyone needs to be vigilant, even on vacation.
