NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s been two days since Imelda passed over New Providence and there is still evidence of communities struggling – trying to manage the ongoing impact.

Our visit to Perpall Tract revealed water levels  up our knees.

We hitched a ride on the back of a truck that took us to a home at the end of the corner.

Tanya Penn says they’ve been trapped here since Saturday with no help besides former MP Travis Robinson – who has now been named the FNM’s candidate for the area, who she says has been to check on her a few times.

Penn explained for two days her family has had to walk through the water – just to get basic supplies.

Those same flood waters are preventing her from getting to work.

Andrea Moxey describes it as by far the worst she’s seen in  the seven years she ‘s lived here.

Her family has also been trapped in their apartment since Saturday.

Fortunately, Moxey says she stacked up on supplies but she fears they may soon run out.

Meanwhile Robinson and his team have been making their way through the area since the all clear was given.

He used the opportunity to call on government for more action.
