CUBA – In response to economic challenges, the Cuban government announced a five-fold increase in fuel prices, with petrol rising from 25 to 132 pesos per litre starting February.

The finance minister cited the need to reduce deficits and revive the economy and said other fuel types and electricity face similar increases.

The move exacerbates existing challenges, including shortages, inflation, and stagnant salaries.
