NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s a topic that’s been on the minds of many in The Bahamas for years, especially following the devastation by hurricane Dorian. Climate change.

The issue was addressed in a town hall meeting last evening at the Zion Baptist Church in Eight Mile Rock.

Those strong comments from Senior Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Dr. Calae Phillipe during the town hall meeting.

Several presentations were made highlighting the impact of climate change.

Dr. Phillipe telling the audience government is focused on creating community smart shelters that will be more climate resilient.

Dr. Phillipe overall pleased with the response from the audience and says young people are an important part of the conversation.
