GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – March 21st was World Down Syndrome Day, where many across the globe rocked their socks in support of those living with the genetic condition.

One local organization is doing its part to help those right here at home.

President of the Grand Bahama Down Syndrome Society, Wende Hanna says not only does the organization continue to promote the message of acceptance and inclusion for those living with down syndrome, but its role is to offer support to their families as well.

And while it is the most common genetic condition in the world, Down Syndrome doesn’t stop those who have it from living a normal life.

Since its inception in 2012, Hanna says the Grand Bahama community has been super supportive of the GB Down Syndrome Society.
