UPDATED: GB, Grand Cay and Bimini Schools All Closed Until Further Notice
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Minister of Education Glenys Hanna-Martin has confirmed for Our News that schools in Grand Bahama will be closed until further notice due to Hurricane Ian.
GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Minister of Education Glenys Hanna-Martin has confirmed for Our News that schools in Grand Bahama will be closed until further notice due to Hurricane Ian.
The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Lorraine Symonette added that schools on Grand Cay and Bimini will also be closed.
The decision was made based on advice from the Director of The Bahamas’ Department of Meteorology, according to education officials.
According to Met Department officials, the outer bands of Hurricane Ian are expected to continue to affect the Northwest Bahamas through to Friday.
