MIAMI, FLORIDA – Astrid and Gemini Cooper were on the tail end of a family vacation to Europe with their mother Merlyn Cooper when the happy holiday went awry.

On January 7th, their mother, Merlyn, who lives with dementia, disappeared at the Miami International Airport.

Cooper says her sister looked everywhere.

Cooper says her mother has gotten lost in the past, but not to this level.

Soon missing flyers and awareness posts were dotted across Facebook and South Florida TV stations, much of the Grand Bahama community hoping to help find the retired Mary Star of The Sea teacher and reunite her with her family.

And Tuesday morning, they got the call they had been praying for.

Just hours after being reunited, Cooper says the priority is still to get Merlyn comfortable, and back home to Grand Bahama as soon as possible.
