NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Department of Gender and Family Affairs in the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development, wrap up a number of events held during the month to commemorate 16 days of activism.
Department officials hosting a monthly forum with representatives of non-governmental organizations and others.
Retired Superintendent of Police, Elaine Sands says this final forum aims to discuss the way forward in addressing gender based violence in the country.
She says one of the upcoming projects includes the implementation of a gender based violence Family Island council.
