Grand Bahama Swimmers Get Ready For 2025 Goodwill Games In Barbados

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Four members of this year’s Goodwill Games team live in Grand Bahama and are ready to help Team Bahamas bring home a third consecutive title.

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The Goodwill Games is a regional swim meet held every summer.

This year, its all happening next month, in Barbados but, here’s what’s different – this particular meet allows younger age categories to participate. There is a category for boys and girls, ages 8 and under, as well as the 9-10 age category.

The Bahamas fielded a full team, with four out of the 40 swimmers hailing from Grand Bahama. One of them is nine-year-old Nyla Beneby.

Jamari Bridgewater and Kymani Cooper will join Nyla on their quest to achieve their third consecutive title for Team Bahamas.

Long time swimmer, Harold Simmons, looking forward to once again represent The Bahamas on the world stage. 

Coach Ashton Knowles says preparation for the big meet remain the same, as the swimmers are coming off the heels of the Bahamas National Swimming Championships.

The team is scheduled to leave for Barbados on august 13th. The games will run from the 15th to the 17th.
