GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Tragedy struck a family in Grand Bahama on New Year’s Day when a three-car collision claimed the life of one-year-old infant and a grieving mother, fighting for her life in hospital. Tonight, we bring you the heart-wrenching story of a family’s resilience in the face of unimaginable loss, as they launch a desperate plea for help to fund Kiante’s critical medical care and recovery. A mother’s love and a grandmother’s heartbreak–that’s the story of April Garvey, who is now living through her family’s worst nightmare.

Kiante Garvey-Seymour, 24, had just completed her nursing assistant program and was preparing to begin her career at the Rand Memorial Hospital, but fate had a cruel twist in store.

On January 1st, while traveling along Queen’s Highway in West Grand Bahama with her son, tragedy struck.

A three-car collision left both of them severely injured. Her son, Little Kengdom, did not survive.

The family is now dealing with the unimaginable grief of planning a funeral for baby Kengdom. Garvey says it’s a double burden that weighs heavily on their hearts.

With only one operating theater at the Rand Memorial hospital , the family is in a race against time to get her airlifted to New Providence.
