GUYANA – Guyana’s government is moving forward with plans to construct a daycare centre for children of prison officers and staff.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the daycare centre is intended to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young children while their parents are on duty, helping to address childcare challenges faced by prison officers and civilian employees of the Guyana Prison Service.

In recent years, authorities have introduced salary increases, upgraded facilities, improved accommodation, and expanded training opportunities for members of the disciplined services.
