NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Prime Minister, Hubert Ingraham, stirred up controversy Friday evening as the Free National Movement celebrated the 30th anniversary of their 1992 victory at the polls. Those celebrations were overshadowed as Ingraham blasted an appointment decision made by Former Prime Minister, Hubert Minnis, noting that while he was in power, he was intentional about not appointing parliamentarians to public utility companies.

Those celebrations were overshadowed as Ingraham blasted an appointment decision made by Former Prime Minister, Hubert Minnis, noting that while he was in power, he was intentional about not appointing parliamentarians to public utility companies.

Now Adrian Gibson’s counsel and attorney, Elsworth Johnson, responded to those comments.

He says that while he respects Ingraham’s right to free speech, it is proper that once a matter is before the courts, it is not usually spoken about. He says he is also concerned that Ingraham’s comments could sway a potential jury.
