GRENADA – It’s a domino effect and just one of the items on the list of concerns regional leaders are discussing at this 47th CARICOM summit – the unrest in Haiti.

CARICOM chairman and Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell admits to some progress in Haiti, but is hoping to see more.

The world food program says 4.3 million Haitians are facing extreme hunger including nearly 1.4 million people on the brink of starvation.

Mitchell and his regional counterparts are this week looking at ways  of financing institutions like the Haitian police force.
