HAITI – A Haitian gang leader accused of killing over 100 people in Cité Soleil to avenge his son’s death is still targeting residents, according to rare witness accounts.

The two-day massacre, reportedly led by gang boss Micanor Altès, also known as Wa Mikanò, was allegedly sparked by accusations of witchcraft against vodou practitioners.

Human rights groups estimate at least 100-184 deaths, but access to the area is limited.

Haiti’s government pledged to pursue justice, calling the violence a “red line.”

Over 4,500 people have been killed in gang violence in Haiti this year.
