HAITI – Members of Haiti’s transitional presidential council have issued their inaugural statement, vowing to reinstate ‘public and democratic order’ in the nation.

With a roadmap for selecting a council President, Prime Minister, and Cabinet in place, Prime Minister Ariel Henry has vowed to step down upon the council’s formal establishment.

The council says it aims to restore security, address poverty, and pave the way for free elections and national reforms.
