U.S.A. – The transaction wire and the draft have made the upcoming NBA season particularly intriguing for local fans so we look ahead at the head-to-head matchup between Bahamians in the league.

The first showdown comes early on opening night, with Buddy Hield and the Golden State warriors taking on Deandre Ayton and the Lakers on October 21st in Los Angeles. 

These two teams meet again later in the season with the Warriors hitting la la land on February 7th, followed by the lakers visiting the Bay Area later that month on February 28th and again April 9th. 

Meanwhile,VJ Edgecombe, Eric Gordon and the Philadelphia 76ers will host Hield and the Warriors December 4th  and then again on February 3rd at the chase center in Philadelphia. 

The Lakers and 76ers also clash February 5th in LA.

Sammy Hunter has already solidified the next stop on his young pro basketball career – Kosovo was fun, but now Austria is the move

Hunter, signed a one-year deal with BC Vienna of the Austrian basketball Superliga – the top tier league in the country.

Vienna has won the austrian championship twice – (2013 and 2022) – and will join the region’s Adriatiac Basketball  Association’s first division this season.

Hunter played his rookie season of pro basketball last year with KB Trepça in Kosovo.

He averaged 13.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 40 percent from three point range, leading Trepça to the Kosovo Superleague Championship.

Also, emerging from the Americup with a new deal – Garvin Clarke is on the move with a new club, but in the same league.

Clarke signed with Insolac Caja 87 basket to remain in Spain’s Feb Segunda. 

He spent his rookie season with cb l’Horta Godella, where he averaged 10.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, on 42 percent shooting from the field and 34 percent from three.

Clarke helped the club to finish in the top half of the league.

According to team officials, Clarke was the final signing for Insolac Caja 87 to complete their roster for the upcoming campaign.
