NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Cases of COVID-19 are surging again in China. But what does a spike in cases mean for The Bahamas?

Not only are COVID cases spiking in China our neighbors to the north are battling the newest COVID variant.

Over the weekend, the Ministry of Health had to issue statement saying so far, there have been no confirmed cases of the new Omicron sub-variant known as XBB 1.5 in The Bahamas.

Both England and the United States have made it a requirement for negative COVID test results for travelers coming from China. But Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. Michael Darville seemed hesitant to hastily jump on that bandwagon
