Hield, Thompson Come Up Short in Return from Break

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamian NBA players Buddy Hield of the Indiana Pacers and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors both fell in their returns to the NBA, Thursday night.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamian NBA players Buddy Hield of the Indiana Pacers and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors both fell in their returns to the NBA, Thursday night.

Buddy Hield scored 18 as his Indiana Pacers lost to the Boston Celtics 142-138 in overtime. He also had 5 rebounds and 2 assists and made 4 of his 10 three-point attempts. 

The game was neck-in-neck throughout with Boston holding a 111-102 lead early in the 4th quarter. The Pacers made a torrid comeback to get the Pacers back in the game and force overtime with both teams tied 127 apiece. However, all start MVP Jayson Tatum took over, powering the Celtics to victory.

Myles Turner had a heroic night for the Pacers with 40 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton added 22 points and 14 assists. 

Klay Thompson also suffered in a loss last night as his Golden State Warriors fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 124-111. 

Thompson led his team in scoring with 22 points and made 4-11 of his threes.

Ty Jerome added 20 off the bench. It was a calm night for the NBA’s all-time leading scorer as he had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. 

The Warriors play the Houston Rockets tonight and the Pacers will play the Orlando Magic on Saturday night.
