HONG KONG – Grieving families in Hong Kong gathered Monday to pray for the at least 146 people killed in the city’s deadliest fire in more than seven decades.

Police say bodies were found in stairwells and on rooftops of four of the seven towers as residents tried to escape the flames.

Thousands lined up for miles on Sunday to pay tribute, including friends of dozens of foreign domestic workers who died in the blaze.

Authorities say about 40 people are still missing, with vigils planned this week in Tokyo and London.
