NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was around 1:45 pm last Thursday, when Marine Seaman Calvin Brown was driving along Bethel Avenue on his way to work, where he came across a frightening scene, an elderly woman involved in a serious accident.

He said he jumped in right away, performing CPR on the woman who was still responsive.

Brown took me back to the scene – the pole that was struck, still leaning.

Debris littered about the sidewalk – parts of the car still lying about – a reminder of the life lost.

To honor her life, he took no video or photos.

Just 22 years of age and just a little over three years of active duty, Brown says lending a helping hand at a moments notice is akin to a soldiers creed.

As for the victim’s family, Marine Seaman Brown shared his condolences.
